Suite Mystique was my Senior Year project in college that I wrote entirely for a string quintet. (2 violins, 1 viola, 2 cellos) This is still considered to be one of my most advanced and sophisticated creations. In fact, I have still not been able to develop versions of the 2nd and 3rd movements for me to play on piano. Fortunately, I was able to come up with a piano version of the 1st movement.
Suite Mystique represents emotions that may even go beyond a loss of a relationship. Although there is a breakup of a relationship inevitable in this song, I am attempting to reach even further to the permanent losses one goes through when experiencing death of a loved one.
