Jeremy Weinglass - Los Angeles Pianist & Composer
Jeremy Weinglass began his musical studies at the age of six at The Nueva School on a Yehudi Menuhin Scholarship for piano. As an original member of the San Francisco Bay Area's Ragazzi Boys' Chorus, and while attending advanced piano and theory classes at the San Francisco Conservatory of Music, Jeremy was exposed very early on to a wide spectrum of musical education. In junior high and high school he played piano with jazz bands, accompanied choirs, and performed in school musical productions. During this time, Jeremy studied with the person he considers his most influential teacher, Thomas La Ratta, former Music Director at Notre Dame de Namur University.

After high school, Jeremy attended Notre Dame for a year with a concentration in Piano Performance. He then attended UC Santa Barbara where he gained experience as vocal and music director of musical productions (both on and off campus), composing for and performing with singers and ensembles and had his compositions performed by the UCSB orchestra. He petitioned to create his own elective course to teach students his original compositions and then conduct them in his senior recital. Jeremy graduated from UC Santa Barbara with a Bachelors of Music in Composition in 2000.
Jeremy began performing professionally at the age of twelve - playing piano for weddings, rotary clubs, open houses and various fundraisers throughout the Bay Area. He maintains a repertoire that encompasses a wide variety of musical genres including classical, jazz, standards, musicals and popular selections across decades. He continuously adds to his repertoire and keeps current with the latest pop/rock hits. While he is versatile in playing many styles, Jeremy's passion lies in composing his own melodic modern classical music for piano and a range of orchestral instruments.
Since moving to Los Angeles in 2001, Jeremy has played piano regularly at restaurants, hotels, shopping malls and all kinds of events throughout Greater Los Angeles. For the past two years, he has been entertaining shoppers every weekend at the Westfield Topanga Mall in Canoga Park. He also plays piano regularly at Agape International Spiritual Center in Culver City during the meditation that precedes the services led by Dr. Michael Bernard Beckwith. A member of International Special Events Society (ISES) since 2009, Jeremy has made a name for himself as the premier pianist for events in Los Angeles playing piano for a wedding ceremony on David Tutera's My Fair Wedding that debuted on the WE Network on February 6, 2011. Jeremy has performed for countless weddings and private parties as well as many big corporate and gala events including The American Giving Awards at Dorothy Chandler Pavilion, Hollywood Radio and Television Society event where President Bill Clinton was the keynote speaker, Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation meeting, NBC Universal All-Star Party at The Athenaeum, Western Justice Center Builders of Peace Gala at the Biltmore Hotel, EMG Pickups 35th Anniversary Party at the NAMM Show, Blue Ribbon Restaurant debut at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, Muse Communications 25th Anniversary Party at Cicada, Sotheby's International Realty Cocktail Reception at Greystone Mansion, Neuron Syndicate Holiday Party at the Annenberg Beach House, Wheels For Humanity Spirit of Movement Awards at the Renaissance Hollywood Hotel, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Los Angeles Accessories for Success Luncheon at the Beverly Hills Hotel - where he was also a featured speaker. (To name a few.)
In 2005, Jeremy released his solo piano album, Dreams, featuring his best of original music spanning a ten year period. In 2008, Jeremy ambitiously recorded 8 solo piano albums in just 3 days featuring some of his best repertoire across different genres of music. The albums consist of: Classical Masterpieces, Christmas, Love Ballads, Jazz Hits, Rock Classics, Musical Show-Stoppers, Pop Favorites and Timeless Inspirations.
Jeremy's latest album of original music is the epic, ODYSSEY: A Twelve Month Revolution, whereby he composed and arranged a piece for each month of the year. This concept album sweeps the listener away on a journey through time. Although the tracks may certainly be enjoyed individually, the album was designed to be listened to as a cohesive 12 part piece. Originally written just for piano, Jeremy added a violin part upon meeting the extraordinarily talented violinist, Chris Woods while performing at Agape. The duo's musical chemistry just clicked and the result is Jeremy's first duet album featuring him on piano and Chris Woods (often seen performing on American Idol and The Voice) on violin. Jeremy's original music is played on SoloPiano.com, SKY.fm, KXLU-FM and the Soundscapes channel on Music Choice.
Jeremy composed "The Divine Within" for his friend and biggest fan, Mason, as a gift to him for his 15th birthday in 2010. To learn the touching story behind this composition, please read Jeremy's blog. In 2011, Jeremy recorded the song and released it as a single. Since it was Mason's amazing spirit who inspired this song, Jeremy is donating 50% of the proceeds from "The Divine Within" to Mason's charity of choice: Wheels for Humanity, a wonderful organization that provides wheelchairs to people in need all over the world.
In collaboration with Michelle "Star" LaVon and Stephen Hues, Jeremy has now
created a full-blown production with a spectacular ensemble of 7 dancers that weave a fairy tale narrated by the live performance of the music from ODYSSEY. The show debuted to a sold out 360 person audience at the El Portal Theatre in North Hollywood on January 14, 2011. 100% of the net proceeds from the show were donated to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Greater Los Angeles. A full length DVD of the performance is now available. They hope to perform the show again - possibly on a nationwide tour.
Jeremy's talents have won him awards and make him a sought-after musician to accompany other artists. In 2009, he won first place in a contest conducted by David Lanz by playing one of David’s original piano pieces flawlessly. In 2005, Jeremy was awarded Instrumentalist of the Year by LA Music Awards. He has accompanied many (up-and-coming and established) artists such as Engelbert Humperdinck with whom he toured across the US and Canada in 2007 playing the string and horn parts on keyboards. He performed with Krassimir, (an internationally known Bulgarian singer) playing keyboards in his show, Popera, at The Kodak Theater in May 2006. Jeremy accompanied international singer and entertainer, Cindy Ashton in a live concert when she performed in Hollywood on her Red Carpet Dreaming Tour. He collaborated with the folk-hop duo I,Star, playing piano on three of the tracks and co-writing "Song of Freedom" on their debut album Music and the Mood as well as playing numerous live shows together. In 2011, Jeremy produced a concert with the talented Dan Rockett - the pair played together performing both of their original songs.
From 2002-2008, Jeremy was the keyboardist in the successful pop/rock band Ballentine who performed regularly at countless nightclubs throughout Los Angeles and at several large festivals such as the Vans Warped Tour, Ink Slayer's Ball, Temecula Music Festival, Los Angels Pride Festival and Long Beach Pride Festival. They also traveled all over the world for weeks at a time performing for US troops on 8 USO tours. (France, Italy, Spain, Turkey, Puerto Rico, Cuba, Honduras, Greenland, Okinawa) His most recent band endeavor was as the band leader and keyboardist of The Paula Franceschi Band up until October, 2010.
As a Big Brothers Big Sisters Alumni, Jeremy serves on the Alumni Board which seeks to stay connected with the "littles" they've served. He is also now a "Big" to an athletic, bright 11-year old boy named Christopher.
